Become a Volunteer
City of STEM + LA Maker Faire is back, and we’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring this exciting, hands-on STEM celebration to life! This event brings together science, creativity, and innovation for families and learners of all ages. Volunteers play a key role in making it a welcoming, engaging experience for our community. Whether you enjoy interacting with guests, supporting activities, or helping behind the scenes, there’s a role for you to get involved and make an impact.

9am-5pm
Shifts:
Morning Shift : 6:00AM-12:00PM
Afternoon Shift: 11:30AM-5:30PM
All Day Shift: 6:00AM-5:30PM
Different volunteer opportunities :
Assisting at various booths
Helping with setup and breakdown
Supporting exhibitors at their booths
Covering lunch shifts
Leading activities
Taking photos
Guiding participants
Providing information to guests
And more!
Requirements:
18 years old or older.
Ability to lift and move 5-30lbs, including(but not limited to) equipment, tables and chairs
Comfortable working outdoors for more than 3 hours in varying weather conditions (rain or shine)
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Volunteers must attend an orientation prior to the event to volunteer. We will be offering 3 options to choose from.
Orientations:
Orientations will cover volunteer expectations and event logistics and will be offered both in-person and via Zoom.
In-Person
Friday, April 10th @ Columbia Memorial Space Center from 6:00-7:00PM
OR
Online
Zoom: Saturday, April 11th 10AM-11AM(ZOOM) or 12PM-1PM(ZOOM)
